Months ago, I was in a meeting with a group of friends. We were talking about our businesses and our plans and stuff – I’ve told you about my GOAL group. Well it was during one of those meetings when the owner of the café we were in said something that still sticks with me. “There wasn’t a plan B.” Simple, right? For me not so much. No lie, in that moment I realized that I was scared shitless. Fear is a hell of a place to operate from.
If there is one thing to prevent us – yes us – from pursuing our passions, it’s the fear of not being able to take care of ourselves and our families. It’s what keeps us in unfulfilling jobs: the guaranteed pay check.
Now look babies, I’m not saying quit your jobs, I am saying that it is possible to create a situation where your passion becomes lucrative, and that may mean that you feel satisfied doing it and defining it a success in terms beyond financial gain. Translation: It’s that thing you would be happy doing even if you did it for free. So, my logic says…
Do what you love and you’ll feel more fulfilled.
Do what you love and the money will seem less relevant.
Do what you love!
